How to Apply for a Housing Contract

Fall 25 - 26 First-Year Students

You’ve completed your application and have been admitted to UNC! Congratulations on your acceptance! After you’ve submitted your confirmation deposit, you’ll be able to submit a housing contract using your Ursa log-in credentials without the @bears.280760.com on the email address. There’s a 24-hour/one business day delay between the time the deposit is paid and when you can apply for housing.

Important Dates

  • The 2025-26 academic year housing contract will be available: Early December (MST).
  • Completing the Contract

    1. Log in to the Housing Contract using your Ursa credentials. Note: Use only the first part of your login before the @bears.280760.com. For example if your login is klaw1889@bears.280760.com, only enter klaw1889.
    2. Read the Housing Contract Terms and Conditions.
    3. Review your student information for accuracy. If you need to make changes contact the Office of the Registrar at 970-351-4862.
    4. Consider living in a Residential Learning Community. You’ll be asked if you’re interested in living in a Residential Learning Community, so it’s a good idea to review the Residential Learning Communities to see if you’d like to call one of these communities home.
    5. Selecting your room (not available for spring contracts)/Selecting your roommate. In the Academic Year 2025 - 26 HRE is in the process of a new housing portal for the next academic year. Please check your e-mail regularly for updates regarding this process.
    6. Pay the housing deposit. Pay the $100 housing deposit via credit card or by selecting "pay later" in the housing contract. If you select pay later, your housing contract will be incomplete until your payment has been made. If your $200 enrollment confirmation deposit was waived by admissions, your housing deposit will be postponed (not waived) until your first student bill in August. Once the deposit is paid you’ll receive an email confirmation via your UNC email address. If you don’t receive a confirmation email, please contact us at 970-351-2721 to confirm payment.

Spring 2025 Applicants

You’re new or transferring to UNC for the Spring 2025 semester and we’re excited you’re joining the Bear family! After you’ve submitted your confirmation deposit, you’ll be able to submit a housing contract using your Ursa log-in credentials. There’s a 24-hour/one business day delay between the time the deposit is paid and when you can apply for housing.

The Spring 2025 housing contract will be available Monday, October 7 at 8 a.m. (MST).

Before You Start the Contract:

Aims2UNC Students
The University of Northern Colorado and Aims have teamed up to make your transition to UNC supportive and seamless. As soon as you’re identified as an Aims2UNC student you’re eligible to submit an Online Housing Contract the first year you start at Aims. You must be taking at least one class at UNC to be eligible for UNC Housing.

  • Completing the Housing Contract

    1. Log in to the Housing and Dining contract  using your Ursa credentials. Note: use only the first part of your login before the @bears.280760.com. For example if your login is klaw1889@bears.280760.com, only enter klaw1889.
    2. Read the Housing Contract Terms and Conditions.
    3. Review your student information for accuracy. If you need to make changes contact the Office of the Registrar at 970-351-4862.
    4. Consider living in a Residential Learning Community. You’ll be asked if you’re interested in living in a Residential Learning Community, so it’s a good idea to review the Residential Learning Communities to see if you’d like to call one of these communities home.
    5. Rank housing tiers in your order of preference. If you selected a Residential Learning Community, you’ll be placed in the hall where the Residential Learning Community resides. This doesn’t guarantee you’ll be assigned to your top-tier preference and will only be used if you don’t assign yourself to a room in step 9, below.
    6. Request a roommate. If you want to request a roommate, you can do so via the Housing contract. Just include their Bears @bears.280760.com email address and Bear number in the roommate preference field. This doesn’t guarantee you’ll be assigned with your roommate preference and will only be used if you don’t assign yourself to a room.
    7. Select a meal plan. All first-year students living on campus must carry at least a 14-meal plan.
    8. Pay the housing deposit. Pay the $100 housing deposit via credit card or by selecting "pay later" in the housing contract. If you select pay later, your housing contract will be incomplete until your payment has been made. If your $200 enrollment confirmation deposit was waived by admissions, your housing deposit will be postponed, not waived, until your first student bill in August. Once the deposit is paid you’ll receive an email confirmation via your UNC email address. If you don’t receive a confirmation email, please contact us at 970-351-2721 to confirm payment.
    9. Select your room (not available for spring contracts). You’ll be able to select your room based on which priority group you’re assigned to, which is based on the date we received your completed Housing and Dining Contract. The “Find A Room” link will be activated in your contract when your assigned priority group is scheduled.

Continuing Students

If you currently live on campus, you can sign up for a space during our Call Dibs campaign and live on campus with us again. You can sign up to live in the residence halls, a university-owned house or an apartment at Arlington Park. If you complete the university-owned houses or Arlington Park Apartments contract, you’ll be placed on a waiting list and contacted if a room is available for you. Returning residents have more meal plan options.

If you choose not to return to live on campus but want to carry a meal plan, you can still complete a UNC Dining Contract.

Arlington Park Applications

The application for new Arlington Park residents goes live February Spring 2025. This is for students currently living on campus (in the residence halls or university-owned houses) who are interested in moving into Arlington Park for the 2025 - 26 academic year or incoming students interested in living in Arlington Park for the 2025 - 26 academic year.

Graduate and International Students - Academic Year

UNC Housing offers affordable housing and dining options for graduate students. Our university-owned houses and Arlington Park Apartments are great options for our graduate and international students. However, spaces are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to submit your applications early! Many graduate students choose to sign up for a meal plan whether living on or off campus because it’s so convenient. You can grab a bite to eat on campus while staying focused on your studies or research.

Extended Campus and Graduate Students - Summer Programs

Summer students will live in South Hall or North Hall. These residence halls are part of the Ridge Neighborhood, located on the West Campus. The Ridge Neighborhood is within walking distance of Holmes Dining Hall, the Campus Recreation Center, Turner Green, Campus Commons, the University Center and the West Campus academic buildings.
